  1. I do have a YouTube channel I opened a long while back, which I haven't checked in ages. I'll contact you there as soon as I log back in. In the meantime, best of lucks at redoing the car and also with your Japanese learning. My dad was once a car painter and I would sometimes help him, though I never operated the sanders, either. I guess because I was a rookie at the job and very little at the time.
  2. I don't know if you do YouTube. This is my channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/JLGluvsLara?feature=mhee That is the best way to keep up with what I'm doing. I'm doing a series about redoing the car, and I just finished a 31 day challenge to see how much Japanese I can learn...though I intend to keep studying it. Sometimes Gail makes a guest appearance, which she recently did. She used to feel self-conscious about people seeing how fat she was, but she looked quite adorable using a Craftsman sander on the car the other day (I'm scared of the sander). Well, I hope you continue to feel better. I suppose reactions to creams are why they tell you to test the spot first, though I almost never do.
  3. I've contacted Gail by now. She sent me a PM along with her mail address, so hopefully I can still keep in touch with you two since I have both of your mails, in case you decide to leave the forum completely, even the Writer's Lounge, which I hope you won't. It doesn't surprise me that you're engaged in painting a car. I've seen your manual skills in the past, and I'm glad you keep expanding your language knowledge. I'm feeling better now, thanks, though I developed a bit of a rash after applying some strong analgesic cream on the bruises that feels like burning my weak skin.
  4. Well, I'm sure Gail appreciates the birthday thread, but no--I doubt she saw it. To tell you the truth, we have both sworn off forums and social networks. I pretty much just stick to the Writer's Lounge on LitNet. Gail is busy trying to become ambitious, which isn't really her nature. I've been busy repainting her car. I'm also learning Japanese in addition to Spanish. I hope you are feeling better.
  5. Hi Jess! I've been wondering about your mom, since I haven't seen her around for a while. I posted a birthday greeting on her profile, but I don't know if she ever saw it. I hope you are both okay. Please tell Gail I'm saying hello
  6. What my mom and I despise about it is that it is a sounding board. As you said, people post garbage--and some of that is hate-filled messages. Some are frightened and blowing things out of proportion. Most of your friends take no interest in what you post. I got into the habit where I didn't want to read any posts (though I usually read yours since you weren't that way) because I always felt bummed out. I don't normally feel lonely, but Facebook (and many social sites actually) somehow made me feel that way. I started to avoid the place, and that put my account at risk. After a while, I thought--what is the point?
  7. I have to stay there compulsorily because of many school notifications often posted via Facebook, though I must admit it can be disgusting at times. Some people love the versatility of the place in that it allows to post all sorts of garbage, and I know quite a few who are truly fond of posting garbage anywhere they can. Seems they have nothing urgent to do with their lives. Sometimes I have to take my time and browse the page all the way down the bottom just to find something really interesting to see or read
  8. No, she just got tired of it.
  9. Okay, I've just checked! Her account was hacked, too?
  10. Max, I just wanted you to know that mom closed her Facebook account. She didn't de-friend you. She is as sick of Facebook as I am.
