Yep, I'm still doing the tutorials, though getting a bit tired of explaining the same things over and over again each semester.. . The next semester will be my 6th, and I've spent the last months applying for my year abroad in Britain starting in October. I got the results back two weeks ago, and I'll be going to Cambridge for the year. I feel quite excited, but scared nonetheless . Currently I'm thinking hard about the poem analysis I have to hand in in a few days... It has to be on a metaphysical poem. Any favourites (please don't say "The Flea") ?
Hey Schoki, I have to apply with an organization called CILT that runs the Graduate Teacher Programme for native speakers of foreign languages. The GTP is employment based, so I'll be assisting/ teaching four days of the week and will have courses on Fridays. What have you been up to? Do you still teach tutorials? What semester are you in now?
Naaah, don't go teaching at that posh school! I'm sure you have a lot of apparent and covert qualities, but an arrogant loftiness just doesn't seem to be among them . But anyway, what's going to happen next? Will you have to apply there to be accepted, or do you have to some training courses at uni there first? Of course, don't worry about the summer school, getting settled over there certainly precedes! I'm afraid I still won't be old enough for teaching next summer, but the summer after that! I'd be honoured to do a course with you! Since I haven't heard that the summer school programme will be cut anytime soon, we could make a mental note for the summer of 2010 .
PS: about the summer schoo: will you be old enough to teach there next year? maybe we can teach some lit. stuff together?
it wasn't winter when I took the pic I liked the schools. one was a comprehensive school with lots of 'lively' kids, where I observed lessons and assisted. the other was a posh independent school that had a Tater Day for people who'd like to go into teaching. I was the only foreigner there I liked the equipment and rooms there better, but the atmosphere was a bit chilly and the teachers were posh, except for the bloke who gave the presentation. oh, I haven't mailed your friend about the summer school. I think I won't do it this year after all, because the interviews and familiarization course for England are around the same time. What have you been up to? See you, Sleepy
Coucou! I hear you've been to England, how did you like the schools you looked at? And what's going to happen next? Oh, nice pic! But my gosh, child! At least put some socks on, it's freaking winter!!!
thanks! and merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, too. I haven't mailed your friend about that academy yet, but I'll do it this week. take care, Sleepy
Dear Sleepy, I'm off to my grandma's today, where I'll be staying a week, and since I won't have any Internet access there, I'd like to wish you a very very merry Christmas in advance . Have a good one! Lots of love!
Nope, I won't have to take another exam, but I'll have take teacher training in the UK. Seeing as I'd have to do the same here, that's OK, though. Cool, we can visit each other in England then Will read your private messages now and reply directly. Hugs, Sleepy
Congratulations on having survived your finals! Sounds like a great idea to go teaching in England! (Although I just heard this morning that Ba-Wü is lancing a shamefully expensive campaign to lure prospective teachers from other Länder...). Will you have to do another exam/degree in order to be able to work as a teacher in the UK? There's not that much news from my side of the moon; I've just applied for a year abroad in Durham. Hey, we could actually be starting together in the UK in Sept. '09! I keep my fingers crossed for your results! Love, Schoko
