  1. Thanks for the msg. Don Quixote is coming along nicely--reading a chapter a day--I tried to read it as a pre-teen but it must have been a heavilyedited edition because I remember absolutely NOTHING about the adventures except for the windmills incident which is surprisngly short now. Plus I definitely wasn;t reading between the lines on the more mature but tastefully presented context.
  2. So how goes the Don Quixote reading, Rich? When I read the book, I had an awful time understanding some things. Then it struck me that this was originally written by a Spanish author for a Spanish audience. So I figured if something wasn't clear it was a cultural difference. That helped, and I really enjoyed the book. I'm with you, though, you begin to feel sorry for him since he gets beaten up a lot! Thanks for the check-up call. I really appreciate it. Take care.
  3. Appreciate the update and changing my cell phone shortly as I tend to procrastinate over that sort of thing. Very concerned about your 'friend' and his strange way of expressing gratitude. Takes all kinds I suppose.
  4. Yeah, still kicking. By the by, I had my home phone disconnected over harassing calls from a young man I'd tried to help years ago. You can still call me on my cell, (276) 782-2193.

Internet was down for five days during this changeover!
  5. Just checking in making sure you are still amongst the living--on Earth that is. All reasonably well here.
  6. Thanks for the update on Doc. Passed it on to my son who is a BIG Doc fan with ALL the Bantams and many of the current series reprints as well. He has most of the Marvel cmics and the Gold Key issue. Not sure if he has any of the DCs. Always a pleasure to hear from oyu. God bless. Rich
  7. Hi Rich. Thought you might like to know the latest word on the forthcoming Doc Savage novels by Will Murry. This is a direct copy of his post on our yahoo group.

While I'm not yet ready to make any announcements on new Doc Savage novels, there will be a startling Doc announcement at the Windy City Pulp & Paperback show next week.

I can say that THE DESERT DEMONS is complete.
    I'm polishing HORROR IN GOLD.
I have most of THE INFERNAL BUDDHA written.
And I have been working on PHANTOM LAGOON too.

By the way, thanks for your phone call this week. Gets lonely here sometimes.

    Dale
  8. You have a wonderful new year, mon ami.
  9. Merry Christmas---hope the day goes well for oyu and God's grace continues to shine on you. He has been very merciful to me despite a year of personal loss.
  10. Fair. Had a rough few weeks these past. Recovering nicely.
