Conversation Between Wilde woman and LitNetIsGreat

  1. Yes, I like that they used a Wilde poem as the song, neat little twist. Yes Dench is excellent too.
  2. Yes, Colin Firth and Rupert Everett were priceless in Earnest! I admit this is completely a fangirly moment, but I love when the two guys sing. And Dame Judi Dench is just hilarious.
  3. Yes, I've seen the movie with Fry as Wilde. I thought it was quite good, Fry as Wilde a must, but of course trying to reduce Wilde's life to just under two hours was never going to work and I felt that they focused too much on his sexuality, they could have called Wilde and his sexuality really. The Colin Firth's Importance I think is an excellent production, have you see that one?
  4. Thanks for the recommendation on Table Talk! I must check it out. I only have his Complete Works, and I haven't even made my way through that yet, so I must get a move on! Have you, by any chance, the movie starring Stephen Fry as Wilde?
  5. Hi, I don't know if you have come across Table Talk before or not? It is a collection of Wilde short oral stories that various people wrote down and is well worth getting hold of. Some of them I have come across before in other editions and things, but some of them are quite new to me and all of them are typical Wilde. Anyway, a great little book:

  6. Oh, yes forgive me I'm not usually as negative (tired and need a bath) but it surely gets to everyone, it's very frustrating. I'm not actually a teacher at present, I'm a HLTA for English which is about the closest thing to one but with less work planning. Might be training as a teacher next year, don't know why, must be mad.
  7. Ciao to my fellow frustrated teacher!
  8. Hi, yes I have checked out the individual forums, and obviously Wilde's, but not many people seem to use them, or they do so infrequently. I have not bothered to answer much myself as some of the OPs of the threads go back three or four years. If I remember correctly I think no one has opened one on Salome too.
  9. Well, hi to you too! I was just checking out the Wilde forum and I'm stunned that nobody has commented on Lord Arthur Savile's Crime. That's one of my favorites? How about you?
  10. Hello there, any friend of Wilde's is a friend of mine.
