OK Dafydd, I don't know what you're playing at, but I know you are out there. I see your name on the active users list as of 3:15 CDT! Hope all is well. regards, Gilliatt
dafydd, Looked up your PA474. Wow! what a beautiful bird. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Lancaster_PA474 I envy your being able to fly in it. Must be a thrill. Gilliatt
Thanks for the message. 15 years in the RAF, including a bit on Shackletons, which is a Lancaster derivative. I've also done a whole load of research on the Lanc for other authors, but having been a serving airman at the time, I couldn't get any credits. Mind you, the cheque compensated for it!!! I've actually had the pleasure of flying on our Lanc (PA474) on a couple of occasions. Happy days!!!!!
"Auto-pilot control **** to OUT (clutches may be left IN), Superchargers to M (low) ratio, Air intakes to COLD and Brake Pressure to a Supply pressure of 250-300 lb./sq. in. (Researching Avro Lancaster!) " What the *** ? You must be an aircraft buff! Not many people know an Avro Lancaster from their Hawker Hurricane. My father was a P-38 Lightning pilot in the Pacific.
