Rich - Were you the one who believed Shakespeare was Catholic? If that was you, I would like to talk to you about it. If you come back to Lit Net, drop me a note. I believe you were right.
Merry Christmas Rich. We haven't spoken in a while. I hope you have a special holiday. Here's a present and a card for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7uvH...eature=related
I saw you blog on sonnet 20. I wanted to think it over before I posted. I'll go by and drop a thought by you.
RE: Yeah, that "master-mistress" phrase is I suspect the crux of this poem, and I have to admit I don't understand it. From what I gathered in a search, it is a debated line. Your reading of the poem seems as solid as anyone else I've seen. In fact I like your reading better than the others. My response: Thanks for your comment. I am still working on Shakespeare's "master-mistress" invention. I just posted perhaps the beginning of a discussion to connect an understaning of Shakespeare's portrait of "it", i.e., the gaze of the "master-mistress" of Shakespeare's spiritual passion in sonnet 20 to an understanding of a comic spin on same that is painted with a comic spin in "as you like it".
No one has stopped here yet. I guess I'll be the first. Wow, you've been a member for over three years. I can't recall seeing you before. Well, I sent you a friend request.
