Mucho gracias, muchacha...
Congratulations upon becoming the co-winner of the poetry contest.
What a nice way to conclude your message! And I'm glad too, the more especially as I snivel my way to a near birthday, rather pessimistic whether my youngest, my one daughter, will call to wish me well.
Yeah, you did. I think you mentioned someone else, too--I think it was May Sarton. I haven't forgotten about that Howard Nemerov thingie, which I'll PM to you as soon as I have time. I'm glad we're friends.
I hope I made it clear there that I was quoting Yeats' lines about quarreling with others vs with oneself.
Prince, I liked reading your reply to Hillwalker's poem about a poet "quarreling with himself." I had the privilege of seeing Frost's gravesite in Vermont, which is the only place in New England where "frost" is in the ground year round. Anyway on his tombstone is a line from his poems: "I had a lover's quarrel with the world." (and I love that line!)
