I dunno, Mongoloid's my favorite song ever like I told you, and that took a bit for me to like it. I didn't like it at first! And it has stuck for about a year now. I think I like those kinds of songs best, as well.
Haha, yeah that's one tangled sentence. But I have always wondered.... of the songs you immediately like and the ones that take a while to catch on..which "stay" with you in the long run? Which do you prefer? I think I like the ones that, upon listening to an album for the first time, it eludes (right word?) my liking, yet upon the second listen, it jumps out, and you think "how the hell did I miss this?" But I can think of several examples which fit the immediate likin' vs. the exposure likin' which I love equally. Yup. : )
Ooo, they sound interesting, too! I'll look em up! Of course I have! Who hasn't? I have but one song by them-"I'm Sticking With You". Other than that, I haven't listened to 'em much! I know what ya mean-acquired tastes usually rule, though, because they make what you like and the reason why you like it so much deeper and unique. I don't think that was the most grammatically correct sentence...hahaha. Oh well.
hehe, my pleasure. I am in ecstasy when I hear that sax and Poly's wails. And if ya like them I can bet you'll like the Rezillos too. Very similar. Have you ever heard of the Velvet Underground? They are probably my favorite band... but are kinda an acquired taste. Yet pretty much all the music I listen to is an acquired taste, so what's new Happy listening!
Oh mah gee! I am loving X-Ray Spex! THANK YOU!
Hahaha, yeah, they're pretty silly. I seem to like dumb bands. They're from the Alternative Tentacles family, which is something my friend got me into, even though I don't much care for the Dead Kennedys. (They have a couple good songs) Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys is like, the head dude of Alternative Tentacles...
Wow....too cool. Zolar X-- I looked at some info on 'em and first thing I see is "sounds like the Stooges and Chrome"... two bands I heart. And I have never heard of them before. Just goes to show how much music I have yet to hear! Thanks for the recommendation!!
Oh I forgot about Zolar X, hahaha. They're neat.
