Hi kratsayra. Just got a chance to take a few moments for frivolous online activity. Good to hear that you're making good progress on the diss. What has your project ended up being on? I'm just heading into a first chapter and really happy with the way the project is planned out at this point. It's going to be about descriptions of architecture in dream poetry and romance across the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. (starting with Chaucer and ending with Spenser). I'll either be off teaching or doing some very light TA work winter quarter, so I'm hoping to make the start of the New Year a very productive time. This quarter I've been keeping busy teaching my first self designed upper division course on Renaissance poetry and the visual arts. Lots of fun but also lots of work. Good luck with the grant aps. I need to get on that pretty soon myself.
Hi Petrarch! I hope you are having a good Thanksgiving. I certainly needed the break. So I finally have time to check in with you. How is your work going? I have one dissertation chapter done, but unfortunately not much more because of all the papers I've been grading this semester. I can't wait to be done with the semester and to get on with my own work. The teaching position I have this year is 2-0 so I will be off in the spring and free to focus on my dissertation. I've been applying for a mess of fellowships and grants for next year - hopefully one of them will come through. I hope your work is going well!

Good luck with the papers, kratsy. I just got over a group of those myself. Just drop me a line when you've the time. P.S. As Virg.--who seems to possess some sort of amazing space-time abilities that allow him to post on everyone's board in the forum at once--kindly enlightened me, the way these message posts work is that you click on "view conversation" and then type your reply in so that it actually shows up on the other person's board. That way the person can just check their own board, see that you've replied and click on "view conversation" to see the whole exchange. Otherwise people forget to check all their friends' boards and might miss that you've replied to them.
