  1. I've been ill, and that's why I didn't answer sooner. Can we do Yeats? (since Montale was a modernist, I guess "contemporary" is to be taken in its widest possible meaning).
    If not, I wouldn't mind having a look at someone from the Beat generation - Ginsberg, for instance.

    Can I choose any poet?? From any country? Is it for the nominations? I quite like Bishop, whom you suggested. Larkin I love too, would that be possible? Apart from them, there are a few French poets I wouldn't mind studying (René Char, Apollinaire, André Breton, maybe Louis Aragon, Prévert,...). But I don't know if they are translated into English and/or easy to find in anglophone countries.
