  1. hi! miss ya!
  2. happy happy Birthday!!
  3. Thanks!! Both for the felicitations and for the encouragement! Goodness, if that's how it is, you've made me feel a lot better and less worried!

Your double major (and a minor!! all at one go??) sounds terrific!! What fun!! I was just telling Brian Bean that I'd be interested in learning German someday - it always sounds so interesting! Not that I've heard it often, but.... Are you considering teaching, once you're finished? That's what I want to go into - but into higher education; I'm not self-sacrificing enough for high-school teaching !

Hm. I'm not sure if I've told you, but I'm homeschooled. That means more time for extracurriculars - but I suppose I'd rather tons of extracurriculars than being with people who are bored with school! but learning is interesting, especially since there's so much of it .

thank you thank you!! That means a LOT!
  4. Congratulations !!! Great that you got accepted into Patrick Henry!!
Hihi, I applied to about 30 scholarships, and it took them forever to write back their answers. I wouldn't stop complaining about not hearing anything and checking the mailbox every hour - drove everyone at the house completely nuts . But then at last, almost all the answers arrived on the same day . So don't worry, it'll work out just fine for you, too! ("Patience is bitter, but the fruits are sweet." )

Yes, I'm still in college . I'm doing a double major in English Language & Literature and German Language and Literature; my minor is Ancient History.
And I'm loving every minute of it!! In a way, it's very different from high school in that all the people there (most of them, anyway ) are there by choice, and that makes for a different kind of atmosphere than in high school where everyone just tries to pull through. Of course there will be boring classes in college, too, but being exposed to so very many new ideas is the most thrilling thing that has ever happened to me . And you'll be surrounded by people who share your interests! In short: college is just great .
And, judging from what I know of you from LitNet, you absolutely belong there !!
  5. THANK YOU!!! As you guessed, I need it!!
I have applied to one - and got accepted! It's Patrick Henry College in Virginia, a private college that opened in 2000, and I intend to major in literature. However - I haven't accepted yet - I can't until we're sure about the scholarships. You're right, they're incredibly stressful. So far I've applied to about 25, apart from the ones the college offers, and haven't heard anything yet!!!

How about you? If I remember rightly, you're either in college or done with it. How do you like it? What did/will you major in?
  6. I totally understand, I was so anxious to finish high-school myself, I even had a tear-off calender that counted down the days till graduation .
But oh, have you applied to colleges yet? Thinking about local or far away? And what about scholarships? I found that was the most stressful part of all.. but no need to tell you that, I guess .
Whatever you're planning, I hereby send you the hugest good-luck-cookie you have *ever* seen, so that you get exactly what you want!
  7. awwwwww thank you!! yes, that dress was gorgeous .

And yes, I can't wait to finish high school!! I'm in my last semester right now and seriously, besides schoolwork I'm going two places nearly every day. Dizzying!! . It's all I can do to think "one more semester, ONE more and then, at least, high school will be done." Then I can be a college student!!
  8. Geee, I just saw that picture of you in your dress in the Photo thread, you're such a cutie!! And the dress is really wonderful, very fairy-tale like with the embroidery .

Anyway, how are things for you in high school? Can't wait to leave?
  9. Ah, likewise! Have lots of fun! And cookies!!
  10. And I like your library! I bet it delights the hearts of all the booklovers visiting here .

I'm off to my grandma's today, where I'll be staying a week, and since I won't have any Internet access there, I'd like to wish you a very very merry Christmas in advance Have a good one!
    Lots of love!
