  1. Ha, ha yes, certainly no one would vote for the weather. I was speaking to my grand mother the other day who is 77 and it is the worst 'summer' she has ever know, easily. It is supposed to be better from tomorrow (great timing?) so let's hope it is true. The last two nights I have stood watching the clouds hoping for a break to play tennis, not likely, but maybe tomorrow night? Tennis and then beer in the pub!
  2. I'm with you all the way. After the worst summer in a century everyone needs a break and I hope the weather also breaks to give us some respite from the rain. I went out today to do a bit of shopping and the moment I stepped out there was a colossal downpour that lasted for about fifteen minutes before I could proceed. Tomorrow is said to be a complete contrast to the past weeks so let's hope it's true. England is a great country in so many ways but nobody would vote for its weather unless they were sadomasochistic.
  3. Woo hoo, finished today, six week off! I'm certainly going to make the most of it this year as I've got a list of things that I'm doing. When I'm back in September I want to feel that I have had a great break. Best day of the year!
  4. Hi, ha, ha, oh I always get dragged into silly things, but I have been off work again so I need a break from chess and reading, it keeps me occupied and out trouble too.
  5. Hi Neely,

I see you're having a little bit of trouble with the fractious kids on legalising canabis. You are of course 100% right in your deductions but we have been down this road before and I can't be bothered to argue the obvious with those who are too inexperienced to recognise it.
Anyhow, you are quite capable of seeing them off and there are few things more amusing than watching them banging their heads against a brick wall.
  6. I agree, these people are total trash and I have no time for them at all. I got off to sleep but only because I was so exhausted after a week at the mad farm, as I usually am on Friday. I woke up about 5.20am to find the "music" still playing!!! It wasn't until about 6am that they turned it off and went to sleep presumably. The next that happens I won't hesitate to call the police.

Yes that place in France sounds ideal. It would have to be the lottery in the first instance.
  7. If I had my way, there would be a special noise force that had the power to enter peoples houses and remove any recording equipment in cases like that. The fact of the matter is that there are civilised people and their opposite, for whom I have very little time.
You will just have to go on playing the lottery in the hope that you can move to a more civilised locality. The one that would suit me is Cap Ferrat in the south of France, it's an amazing place where virtually all of the inhabitants are millionaires who live in lush green grounds with nothing to be heard but the sound of lawn sprinklers and insects buzzing in the sun. Not only don't you hear the owners of the palatial villas, you never see them either but each garden gate has a sign attached that reads 'Chien Méchant' or 'Vicious Dog', just in case anyone thinks of invading their privacy.
  8. Hi, if the noise thread hadn't have been closed I would be ranting by now. Some silly party with booming music has been going on for the last 5/6 hours and it's now nearly midnight. It's five houses away and our windows are vibrating. God help those living next door.
  9. Wow! How's that for precognition? I don't even know where Skegness is located except that it's somewhere north of Watford. When you do get to Monte, keep away from the casino unless you want to find yourself unable to afford even a small glass of vin rouge.
At least you won't find any Nesbits in the principality, as going bare chested is against the law.
  10. Thanks, yes I'm off to do some Nesbit spoting in the Nesbit capital of the world - Skegness! I hate the place, but choice is somewhat limited. Monte will have to wait.
