  1. Yeah, it took me quite a while. I imagine the Apocrypha and NT will be a lot easier in comparison though. Are you reading a particular section right now?
  2. To be honest, I haven't slogged through all of the OT yet. I'm trying but I do it a little at a time.
  3. Long time, no talk. So I finally finished the Old Testament. Definitely worth reading. Some great books mixed in with some BORING stuff. I must admit, the last section of prophetic books was a bit of a slog, but I made it.

I'm reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo next before the Fincher movie comes out, then Gone with the Wind (it's playing in theaters here in January), then I'll move onto the KJ Apocrypha, and eventually the NT.
  4. No I have not read anything else by him. It was an ok novel, but certainly not great. I'm currently reading a great little Japanese novel by Shusaku Endo called Silence. That I would check out. Yeah W&P will take you a year to read. I would love to re-read it, but I hate to sacrifice all my other reading.
  5. I believe I have that Murikami book somewhere, but have never read it. Have you read anything else by him? Is he worth checking out? I'm almost halfway done with W&P. Well, really a third done....
  6. Just finished a novel from a Japanese author, named Haruki Murakami. The novel is Kafka on the Shore. It was only average. I'm going to be starting another novel by a Japanese author: Silence by Shusaku Endo. It's supposed to be a classic.

War and Peace is great, except for the very end where Tolstoy gets overly philosophical. Enjoy it!
  7. War and Peace is so good! You reading anything cool at the moment? I'm psyched to start work on the Bible after this.
  8. Well, sounds like you're enjoying yourself.
  9. Virgil. Hey, long time, no talk. I haven't gotten around to the Bible yet (although I plan to). At the moment I'm working on War and Peace with a woman I know from work. I really like it so far. I've read the first part (113 pages), not the first volume yet though. I'm reading the Pevear and Vronsky translation. I also read Catcher in the Rye recently (first time!).
  10. Hey, Virgil. So I read the intro to the Bible, but I decided not to tackle it at the moment, just because there is a lot going on in my life to stress me out, so I needed something a little lighter. I started 1984. Love it so far. I've seen an '80s British film version of this before, so I know a bit of what's in stock for me.
