  2. Trust - Why?

    Ok, I have trust issues. Basically it comes down to this: I trust nobody. Now, I'm not talking paranoia here, but I really do have issues believing what people tell me.

    So I was thinking: Why do we trust people? Is it because we want to believe in the inherent goodness of people? Can you trust someone after finding out they lied to you? Does it matter if people lie to you? Why are we surprised after finding out someone has lied to us?

  3. Casino Royale

    The long suffering wife and I finally saw Casino Royale today. Went to the 1 pm showing. About 20 or so people in the theater. I knew this was a fresh start for the series and was impressed at the thought put into it. When the conclusion came and Bond's theme is FINALLY played it's like we went full circle.

    I notice they gave Vesper a little more motiviation in her actions and they did get the book's last line in. I kept thinking thru the movie how much like Ian Fleming Daniel ...

  4. Robbie Burns Night!

    It's Robert Burns' birthday today. I had added him to the site a number of months ago because I thought his inclusion as Scotland's bard was important, he's a worthy poet and songwriter, and he did much work during his lifetime to ensure that his country's folk songs, music and lyrics, would not be forgotten.
    oh yeah! and I've got Scottish blood in me bones

    Burns wrote in the Scots dialect which sometimes makes his poetry difficult to understand if one is not familiar with ...
