  1. Words on Love's Passing

    by , 11-22-2016 at 05:52 AM (Silas Thorne's Journal)
This is an early poem of mine, from way back in 1993. Overly romantic, but here it is:

I am the hoard of words,
    the broken blackboard's face
    with bitter words of chalk.

    I am the heart's dove-tongue,
    surveyor of the sky
    that wrestled down my wings.

And I once heard the song
that was sung in the hills
when the heart of the wind
    knew her name.

Sometimes I wonder whether any people are interested in serious matters. Even with regard to the election of electors for Trump didnít get people to look at the real issues. Instead, people are still worrying that he might carry out some of his campaign promises. Maybe itís because so many people were surprised that Trump did so well on election day, but since then news and Facebook and other places have been filled with foolishness. Many people seem to think that Trump will completely destroy the ...

Alternative title: The Fountain of Doom

The little chocolate fountain is something of a tradition. It amused us every year maybe in a similar way to the way the paper amused the baby. Itís something different that you can marvel at, is only for a few seconds.
In recent years the fountain has been struggling. My uncle had over or under cooked the chocolate and last year it didnít flow very well at all. I tried to get it to work with my chocolate expertise, agitate (stir) the ...
