  1. Who profits from climate change alarmism

by , 09-16-2023 at 03:52 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
Consider businesses that have grown from the climate change alarmism. They range from making electric cars to making or selling solar panels to windmill arrays, and there are other companies that are looking toward sea level rise, the melting of Greenlandís ice, and other changes happening as results of climate change. There will be more, and there are some who are pushing for restrictions on economic activity because of assertions that those activities caused climate change. Like most social changes, ...
  2. How Long

by , 08-30-2023 at 02:44 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
For several reasons, I sometimes wonder how long humans can live, and I also wonder whether death may be voluntary. In my limited experience, people often seem to have an innate sense for how long they will live, and they are relatively accurate, and that has led me to wonder how long humans can live. There was that Chinese herbalist, Li Ching-Yuen, who lived more than 250 years. And there was Old Tom Parr, an Englishman who lived 152 years. 3. New Ethics

But Trump had the nerve to apply those standards to a casual encounter ...

Recently, I have encountered many examples of people acting in ways that they should have learned better about in kindergarten. There are many basics about dealing in a world where you are not the only; person that many people learn at a young age, but I have been encountering people who donít even know how to deal with a line, and some people who never learned that one does nor block exits, stairs, etc. And today, there was one person who walked up behind me and grabbed my shoulders. I only yelled, ...
  5. Crises in the News

by , 07-22-2023 at 02:51 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
Decades ago, we learned about grade inflation in schools and colleges. Today we are having another kind of inflation; Journalism is inflating everything into a crisis. And it isnít just journalism; the government is doing the same thing. Yesterday I got an emergency notification on my phone that there was a flash flood watch. There was a thunderstorm later, but I was nowhere near any watercourse that flooded.

If that were the only crisis. Then it would be amusing, but people have ...
