by , 12-01-2016 at 10:57 AM (Memories of the 28th Century)
I am opposed to holidays. They get in the way, and they direct attention towards some particular cultureís preference. Most holidays are derived from ancient superstitions or from national history, but they are all connected with some particular culture. We as a country seem to be trying to get away from validating or invalidating particular cultures, except for out own, but we Americans still use imported holidays that belong to other cultures. Christianity was largely lifted from Judaism, and ...

And trying to make them less unhappy.

Recently I chanced to sit near some people who were discussing trying to create a deportation sanctuary. Iím not much of an eavesdropper, so I didnít hear all of what they said, but it got me thinking about the matter. I came to the realization that they were looking at the wrong issue. 3. Words on Love's Passing

    by , 11-22-2016 at 05:52 AM (Silas Thorne's Journal)

that was sung in the hills
when the heart of the wind
    knew her name.

Sometimes I wonder whether any people are interested in serious matters. Even with regard to the election of electors for Trump didnít get people to look at the real issues. Instead, people are still worrying that he might carry out some of his campaign promises. Maybe itís because so many people were surprised that Trump did so well on election day, but since then news and Facebook and other places have been filled with foolishness. Many people seem to think that Trump will completely destroy the ...
