I had some dogs once (collies) that did that to the manager of my apartment-only in the front not the back. She was cool about it, but I was embarrassed, needless to say.

Yes the sniffing is for identification, animals have sent glands located in that area which are animal ID, I believe it helps serve to identify gender.

I skip introductions unless it's written by someone I like. I forget the book I read, but it had an intro from Stephen King. That was a good one

lol, I feel that way sometimes. Actually, I won't read them unless they're interesting. I got some Jane Austen novels a couple of years ago, and really passed most of a summer afternoon quite pleasantly deciding which copy I would buy based on the introduction.

Maybe try reading it in smaller chunks.

I have always wondered how much MORE trouble I could have gotten into with good looks, charm and money added to the mix. Amazed the Long Suffering One stays after all these years.
