Halls of the Dark Muse

Defeated by a can of paint

Rate this Entry
For my art class we are doing this whole Day of the Dead thing, which naturally I think is cool. And we are making these skull masks so I decided I wanted to paint mine black (shocking no? ) but I did not want to use my own good art paint becasue I do not have that much of it, and it is expensisve and hard to come by when I run out, so I went out into the gargage and found just some plain old regular black paint, like the kind you would buy in a hardware store. To get the can of paint open I had to pray it with a screw driver, but then when I was done for the life of mine, I cannot figure out how you are suppose to close it again. I have tried everything. I have tried just pushing it back on. I have tried screwing it on. I even tried using a harmmer, but the stupid thing just will not like snap back into place the way it was before, it just kind of sits loose on the top of the can.

hahaha! I was going to suggest hammering it in because that's what I see my dad doing, but it didn't work. Good luck!

My my my it's very simple really--put the lid back on correctly. (Spoken by any young Lieutenant in the military to an enlisted man who doesn't have to actually do the work or be accountable for it.) Ah memories.

LOL well I am trying to figure out how it does go on correctly.

hmm, put it into another container that you can close? lol.. or just put some plastic wrap over it so it doesn't dry out?

Yes, I may have to resort to just wrapping it up

Logos suggestion sounds good, but I am a little surprised. I've never had that happen to me. I've always been able to hammer it shut. Were you hitting it hard enough? The can is supposed to be malleable enough to deform it into place.

One trick is to put a block of wood on top of the can and hit the centre of the wood, this in general ensures the lid goes down evenly at all sides and should prevent too much warping
