Perceptions

Perceptions

Among the crowd
a moment caught
just a sliver
a gleam of the eye

But already a perception
made from only a single
obscured angle
in which the full truth
may hide

No one cares to understand
the full revelation
for judgment passed
by only a glance
the truth a thing to get
in the way

Every stranger passed
goes through a silent
tribunal, for every gesture
caught out of context

A word spoken
without its reasons considered
but taken by the ear
always seeking to find
fault

How many misinterpretations
born out of only a half-truth
captured without effort
to understand the full
picture, a completed circle,
another side.
