Logos to the Rescue

To my great surprise response to Mtpspur in the flesh was not the cry for a Petition to Litnet to Remove Offending Photos that bring down the image of the illustrious and erudite members hereon and would discourage the society of litnetters to interact on a comfortable level.
So why so much trouble getting dates in the younger days??!!
Thanks one and all for the comments.
But---
Some confessions need to be made.
I had nothing to do with the picture posting.
Ruth aka the Long Suffering Spouse had a bit to do with it.
I think--there is some doubt. The night before I had been trying to decipher Photobucket.com while muttering endlessly "Countess says it's easy--bah!!" Was getting nowhere and went back to bed determined to push the Mrs. a bit more tomorrow after she gets home from school.
One of the consequences of getting a loan from Citi-Fin was giving them my cell phone number and despite warnings that the grizzley does not like to be called I'm awoken with the clerk there trying to tempt me into extending the loan. I refuse as the quick bandaid of an extra $1200 would not justify the extended payments. Thanks but no thanks.
Since I'm up might as well check Litnet to see if anyone else is clamoring for the promised photo as now the Drama Queen has turned it into a mission that MUST succeed. Vainity of vanities thy name is Richie.
By this time Ruth is home and I'm mumbling about my public and the expectations that a 'Star' of my magnitudemust live up to blah blah whine whine when I see a PM on board and as usual it is NOT the Litnet member I am expecting. Whenever I see a PM there are two different people I always assume will be there and one of them is good four out of five times bless her heart.
But today God smiles--it is the beloved Logos offering help and encouragement.
She is a moderator of great discretion and if you asked her if Mtpsur begged like a montebank she would demure--but smile sweetly.
I not only begged I mistyped like crazy with the request then had to go to work.
The long suffering one calls me to say we are alive and well (by then I had the assurance from L that the deed was done but had not had the nerve or time to check--AAA being very busy around 5 pm.
The red X puzzled me. I think it would be the photo of me holding Jonah Hex comicbook (the latest issue) as Ruth claims to have tried to post it.
Ruth still doesn't know how she did it. Neither do I. But we are grateful. So I think Ruth and Logos together created the previous Blog entry and yes I'm swell headed from the special treatment.
Favorite wife (by default only been married once) and favorite mod (by choice) together an unbeatable team. Now we got to figure out how to get Ruth on board here. I need a nice picture of her that doesn't have her girl friends in them.
For B-Mental: The picture on the wall was a present from Steve B. (former manager of the Bookery) which depicts four characters from the Valiant/Acclaim line of superheroes comics in a publicity ad. In the late 90s the Valiant line was a contender that was just starting to give DC and Marvel comics a run for their money but they crashed and burned and Acclaim bought them out and ran them into the ground. I had had the conceit of having a copy of every single issue they published in their superhero 'universe' and actually did--just under 1000 issues of about 20 or so different titles combined. From left to right/top to bottom: X-O Manowar (think Conan the Barbarian with sci-fi armor and weaponry and you won't be too far off); Solar, Man of the Atom (a continuation of the Gold Key character from the 60s); Bloodshot (think Punisher with nanites and Wolverine healing ability--ended up being my favorite); and The Visitor (a spin-off from the Harbinger series). After the mid-life crisis I let this stuff go but kept a few momentos. Steve T. scanned ALL the comics on a disk so I can read them anytime I desire just don't have the actual comics anymore.
The picture was taken on the fly in the back bedroom that I use as my library of non-Christian material. The Spurgeons are in the living room for instance. Mighty Mouse just happened to be handy and I was filing when Ruth popped in with the camera. Thinking about it I should have held up the last issue of the Shadow (Summer 1949--#325). Would have taken only a second to pull out of the box or the framed King of the Royal Mounted strip hanging on the wall. Maybe later when L/R and me figure this Photo stuff out.
So that sums up my decision to finally test the waters of acceptance and expose the face behind the tude. Wish Kathycf and Greyfoxdown were here to see.
