Well I have to say I am thankful for all the comments and advice on vitamins. I am happy to find out it wasn't anything serious, but now I am so focused on getting iron I eat everything that is rich of it. I am gonna take another blood test in about three months to see where I am after getting B12, here on the ice you can't buy B12 you have to talk to a doctor to get it. What surprises me the most is that last summer I often got infections in my mouth and saw three doctors about it and they just gave me penicillin for it and I lost a whole lot of weight (I really couldn't afford it) and it was just really bad and now I find out that it was because of the iron! Of 3 doctors nobody thought of getting a blood test.

Anyway,I am sick of the summer and it has hardly arrived. I just want to be in my kitchen cause it's the darkest and coolest place in my apartment. I just want the cold rainy or snowy weather that should be on an island with the name Iceland.

oh I really should go out into my garden and do some cleaning and cutting before my neighbors start a rebellion against the worst garden in town....

That is so odd that none of them thought of that! Well, they say that diagnosis is difficult, and I suppose it is, but it seems like that would be somewhat elementary (my dear Watson!)

Doctors by passed my mother's B12 deficiency for a long time too. I think they assume that people absorb all the nutrients they need from their diet. They don't seem to think about vitamin deficiencies.

I'm surprised you can't get B12 off the shelf there. I thought we in the US were the most restrictive when it came to pharmaceuticals. One needs a prescription from a doctor for just about anything. Anything except vitamins. We have B12 in all sorts of dosages right off the shelf.

Out of curiosity, what dosage of B12 did your doctor prescribe for you?
