A Lonely Traveller

Since we are all broken-spirited travellers on this lonely planet, what need is there to have known each other before we meet?

  1. Taking a Nap in the Shade of a Banyan Tree

When the blazing sun is in full swing,
I need to rest my sore feet from trudging
    in your shade,
counting falling leaves one after another,
like recalling the stories of my life along the journey .

I need to take a nap now to rest my weather-worn soul
    in your sanctuary,
watching the clouds drifting by one after another,
like my dreams scattering along the way.

    When the sun goes down,

  2. No More Clear Glass

When a loveboat is sailing on a romantic mirror pond,

no clear glass is to be found.

There's only a rippling heart in a distraught mind!

  3. Concert of Nature

Leaves of banyan trees push against each other
to crowd onto the green roof of a theater,
    blocking off peeping sunlight,
creating a pleasant shade for all the dancers underneath.
The arial prop roots swinging idly play the long gray beards of the sleepy senior audience.
Some peach actresses nearby are swaying gently

blew me into a small barber’s booth
under a shady big tree on a scenic hillside.

    The lady barber is young and coy;
    when she smiles,
rosy clouds color all over her cheeks.

When trimming off my three thousand hairs of worries,
    she kept whispering to me
    like a shy ladybird.
When she said, “You have a good-looking face!”
This was the only thing I could recall clearly.

  5. My Love in the Mist

    by , 08-11-2010 at 09:53 AM (A Lonely Traveller)

My love in the mist just visited my blog
when I was still lingering in my sweet dream.

She left a message, saying she was overjoyed with the piece
I scribbled for her, but that she couldn't stay long,
and then disappeared into thin air.

Ai! My inspiration comes and goes
    like a whimsical wind,
leaving me but a blank face facing an empty sky.
