As a piece of writing, it's O.K. I don't know what the intended audience is, but it isn't the sort of thing that I enjoy reading, except as part of something else.

It has a male aspect Beau, and it's not too bad. There's a point to it being a boy perspective and not just for the sake of it, so that's cool

Well, Peter, Thanks for the sound facts, but what do you think, in your own opinion?

That doesn't read like a male point of view. The gender guesser agrees http://www.hackerfactor.com/GenderGuesser.php#Analyze

Critters seems fairly straightwforward to me. You critique stories, and others critique your stories. The website is poorly designed. I have trouble finding things, and i have been a member for years. But many of the critiques are very good and useful, unlike the comments that people make on the short story section here. That shouldn't be taken as a blanket condemnation of comments here or blanket praise for comments from critters., but I have gotten excellent crutuques from critter, while I have not gotten any good or useful comments here.

Blogs attract a strange selection of comments, if they attract anything at all.

You might look at some of the other sriting sites, and see if any of those suit you.

This isn't the best place for getting feedback on stories. I would suggest critters.org. eep writing and eventually someone else will like it.

    I shall.

Critters is a little confusing for me. I've tried it, but I didn't really understand how to use the site.

A blog? Sounds interesting. I'll have to look into that.

Sorry about your life changes. Your adapting well, but I hope you'll be able to get back into school soon! The job market sucks, and I think young people got hit espcecially hard.

    Good luck.
It's nice to see you too Q! I understand what you mean.

I hope I can get back to school too! Thanks for the luck!

It can be rough. Sometimes it is advantageous to be yuoung and inexperienced.

I'm also considering that Q. It's actually harder finding jobs in retail than it is finding one for fast food.

Peter: That's what it was. she was over-qualified, and if she wanted to have a job from the places she was over-qualified for, she would have to apply to be the manager, which (1) is harder to get, and (2) she has no experience as a manager.

Fast food is a possibility. I did it a few times in college. I knew a girl who worked her way through college working at McDonald's. I never liked those kinds of jobs, though.

    What about retail?
  16. PeterL's Avatar
Not getting a job because you're ""over-qualified" is extremely frustrating. I have gotten that "reason" several times.

You're probably too smart for them. I know my mom wasn't able to get a job because she had too many degrees(what's this world coming to?).

Look to people in the field that you want to get into and tell them that you need money but want to do something in your chosen field, Someone may be ssympathetic.

I have tried for jobs in fast food, but they have never been interested in me.

And I'm aiming to become a doctor. That's what I'm going to college for. I just need a job to get money because financial aid only lasts so long.

True fact, but even I could find a simple job at a fast food joint...if I was really really trying...
