While thinking about the insurrection invading the U.S. Capitol, I realized that the underlying reason for it was ignorance; although there may reasons for the ignorance. Most people have very limited contact with state and local government, just paying taxes, voting, building inspections, etc. And many people think that TV cop shows are good sources for legal advice and information about prosecution.

For criminal prosecution, there are many rules for the collection of evidence, ...

by , 11-22-2020 at 08:29 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
Since 2017 the National Debt has grown from 20 trillion to about 27 trillion, and there are proposals for additional stimulus that would add between 3 and 4 Trillion to the debt. Most of the increase in debt under Trump is due to the huge tax cuts that were given to the extremely wealthy and to corporations. I don't even think about “class warfare”, but Trump tried to get more support from his friends, without considering the consequences.

It has long been easy for businesses to ...
  5. Rule of Law

by , 11-17-2020 at 09:33 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
It has come to my attention that some people are proposing that Trump not be prosecuted for his criminal acts in the name of unity. While it is preferable that citizens of all opinions should support the government, but it is even more important that people realize that laws are serious, and they exist for everyone, and that means that no one is above the law.
