  1. The Illusion of Time

by , Today at 09:01 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
I recently ran into the theory that time is an illusion, yet again. I have been seeing and hearing that idea for years, but the people who express that notion have not yet managed to get that concept to be reflected in observable reality. Or, they can claim that time is an illusion all they want, but until I look outside and watch events that occurred a few thousand years ago as they take place, I will have my doubts. I understand how watching old light allows one to observe what happened a very ...
  2. Bull Moose

As I sat outside for a few minutes, the question of who I should vote for for president this came to mind. No thinking person can vote for Trump, and there are major problems with the programs that Biden has pushed, and his support of Israel is enough, by it self, to drive me away. In the past I have voted for the Libertarian candidate, and I still my. But a few days ago, I read an article about Teddy Roosevelt, and I was positively impressed by the time someone shot him twice in the chest during ...

Recently, I have been in rehabilitation as a result of being hit by a car, and after some time, they moved me to the nursing care part of the facility. That move has been horrible. Being in a medical facility is unpleasant, but I find the way that people are treated in the nursing home to be repugnant. On the other hand, most of the people here are in horrible condition and are simply waiting for their ends. It might just be that I am inappropriate for such a place. I am quite ambulatory, unlike ...
  5. Let's prevent WW III

by , 04-10-2024 at 07:26 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
This morning, I saw a reference to Sir Winston Churchill, and that got me remembering him. He deserves a great deal of credit for bringing WW II to an end and some credit for building the postwar World and NATO. As we all recall, he replaces Neville Chamberlain as prime minister of the UK. Chamberlain had helped start the war by trying appease Hitler. Churchill spoke against appeasement, and that got him the PM job after the war had begun. Poland was invaded on October 5, 1939, and Churchill became ...
