Kurt Cobain's birthday, today, February 20, 1967, died in 1994, at the age of 27. So missed, so sad.

I hold a deep regard for all things southern, having lived for many years in Georgia. Yes, it's true, I was born in California but Santa Barbara is, afterall, in southern California, and even though I lived in Anchorage, Alaska, that is sort of southern Alaska. I love grits and I read Southern Living magazine from cover to cover every month. So, here it is, your astrological sign, southern style. What is the purpose of the ratings? Do people vote for themselves? I noticed some stars in the poetry thread this morning. I also see that some blogs are rated. Just curious.

I was going through a box yesterday....my wonderful snow day ....when I came across an old envelope with a phone number and a list and on the other side, an interesting phrase. At first I thought I had written down a quote I liked but it wasn't complete and there was no reference to a name. I finally figured out it must be something I scribbled down in the middle of a sleepless night.
