I have a sweet little friend in her late 70's who asked me to take her to see Lions for Lambs and we are going this afternoon. I say sweet little friend because she is tiny and frail, like a little lamb, but underneath she has always been a lion for education, having taught elementary school all of her working life. It is raining! No, it's not that. It's that I had raked two huge piles of leaves as far as I could get them and was going to start dragging them, via a tarp, out to the front berm for pick-up on Monday. Man oh man. Now it will probably freeze, then snow, and there they will sit till spring. All the men in the neighborhood have leaf blowers and walk around showing them off.
The same thing happens in the winter. I'm out there shoveling snow with a shovel and the men all come out put-putting ...
