My Poetry

Last night I made a discovery
a simple one indeed
that many people have found before
and have learned to take heed
it is the fact
that certain things
we eat just do not mix
like a bag of candy and buffalo wings
or caviar and chocolate chex
or soup and marshmallows
spinach and strawberry sauce
and much worse fried fish and jello

I found out one other thing
that truly doesn't combine
in a way ...

good versus evil
the world may end
any second of any day
childlike men
fighting over candy
who has more?
it was his fault
lets all point fingers
as Truman always wins
but who's that in lead?
no one is
in this phony race
where empires fight
good becomes evil
innocent die
in an imaginary war
with no casualties
testing limits ...

Root beer fizzles
root beer pops
root beer sizzles
and root beer stops
dehydration its tracks
it satisfies
the summer thirst
it pacifies
the cream soda rebirth
an ode to root beer
and all it stands for
past in a bottle
and so much more
a cool tasting heaven
that slides down your throat
let everyone drink it
the mailman, the mayor, the goat
don't forget granny
who grew with ...

Day After Day

Day after day I return
to the place of writing
of poetry
of reading
of friendship
each day from my heart
is torn another piece
small yet relevant
why?
it is because
day after day I return
to this place which I love
and day after day
I break my promises
where is that poem I promised?
that blog entry?
non-existant
so day after day
I must apologize

All my indecision has caused more indecision. Anyone who has read my previous entries must realize by now I struggle with what to put in my blog. This is ridicules. So, I have decided on something. Everyday I am on the internet I will write a poem and put it in my blog. Therefor solving my dilemma and also giving me poetry practice.

The gentlemen
are hard to find
A man who is courteous
and just
kind and respectful
who knows ...
