In response to Elizabeth, Distrotion of Hyde,
the only reason I can figure out why in the movie they made Hyde
larger than Henry Jekyll is that they wanted to make a creature to
be feared and also that the movie makers wanted to show how much
Jekyll had been corrupted, that is Hyde is larger because Jekyll can
not help but want and desire to have the freedom that Hyde has.
Hyde has been given life and wants and desires it, Jekyll has taken the
potion one to many times and is now a slave to his addiction. Jekyll
becomes weak as Hyde grows stronger and larger. Origanily Jekyll has
complete control over Hyde, but as Jekyll continues to embrace Hyde, Jekyll
weakens and looses himself. In turn Hyde now is the domanent personality,
like in the ending of the book.
March 1st, 2003
