You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Sure, the book might have been a bit boring, but it is basically a polictical novel. Twain BASHES Britain's POMPOUS monarchy. His wrote the social-polictical satire to point out how England had commited an almost endless amount of barbaric acts against it's own people while the ruling class wasn't even aware of the ongoing atrocities because they were to "divine" to care about the common man. Through his story Twain is able to show how a democracy, which has rulers from all socioeconomic classes, is superior to a monarchy, which has a lucky few who get to rule. I feel that,in order to understand Twain's meaning, you're going to have to be a bit more intelligent and a bit more open to somewhat dry literature. Overall, I thought the book was a fantastic historical fiction with a good plot.
