I would have to say that Emma is one of my favorite books, its very romantic but keeps you reading to the last page. It is very suspenseful trying to figure out who will end up with who in the end. Emma is my favorite character mainly because of her independence. Most fictional women characters of that time were not usually portrayed as wise, strong, independent women like Emma. I know that Emma did have her desires about men but she did not marry the first guy that asked her but instead she waited for her true love to come along. I think that Emma is one of the first characters in a fictional novel that shows that women are as intelligent and as strong as men.
