Sorry Chris, but I have to agree woth "anonymous". The monster (in a physical sense) at the start was pure and innocent--no ill will towards anything, not knowing bad existed. In other words, he was an animal, unknowing. I think what this is trying to say is that man is the evil and corrupt. In the monster's animal sense he was good. He meets man, he is rejected and harmed. He seeks refuge, still innocent. He learns the ways of humans by observing and s turned out by what he thought to be good because of his appearence. His form won't allow him to be given a chance with humanity, so he seeks his creator and finds that even he hates him. He is created by what hates him giving him no chance. Humanity made him a fiend, not himself.
