The satire of 1984 is not a work of prophesy but what could happen if power goes unchecked. the fact that many tyranical leaders did not start out that way but power currupts even the most moral of men. The greatest example would be that of the american revolution vs the french. the power of washington checked while that of napoleons was left to him.
