What most people fail to realize is the extent to which 1984 has come true. The Upper Class (elites) are the Inner Party--who control the media and by proxy--our thoughts. The Upper Middle Class is the Outer party--who have no purpose other than to serve the Upper Class Lastly, the Middle and Lower Classes are the proles--unknowing, uncaring, ignorant and unafraid--merely surviving. Don't they know that the Upper Class only wants you to just survive?
