Finally! A book written superbly that gets straight to the point as oppossed to Herman Mellville who can lag on for hours about cetology and other irrelevant topics. In my opinion, I felt that every word Jack London wrote contributed in some way to the story-line or the story's underlying, abstract meaning. It may not be a long story but it's truly earned it's place as a great American novel. A definite must read!
