This novel is among best literature of the Gothic tradition. However, Gothic novels suck so that's not saying much. The pure imaginary genius that Emily Bronte possesses is what truly strikes me as the most fascinating feature of this piece. The characters of the novel are also very interesting, however dull the story around them is. The duality of themes, characters and settings are also very intuitive nature of the human spirit, which is suprising to see from such an unexperienced author as Emily Bronte. Overall, this novel is magnificently written and strikes chords that ring true to the human soul.
