One aspect that i find interesting about this book is the slogans that the government have created."war is peace, freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength" It amazes me how much these slogans work when it comes to the government controlling the people. War is peace gives the people a common enemy, thus strengthening their nationalism, which makes it a lot easier for the government to control the people. Freedom is slavery engraves the idea that freedom will lead to hate and mistakes. Especially the freedom of speech. That is why they limit vocabulary. Ignorance is strength helps the government control the people because what they don't know won't hurt them.
