Didn't you find some of the book a bit tedious and possibly describable as uninteresting? Also, Wells spends about 4 chapters explaining what the Time Machine is (which may be acceptable as it was written in the 1890's) but then goes onto describe the death of the 2nd most important character, Weena, in less than a page - even though it was the most emotional bit of the book!
