Unlike many of the comments I have read on this page, I thought Far From the Madding Crowd was an awesome book. The imagry was amazing, such as when it says that the cat looked at the bird with much affection. What an awesome image of twisted "love"! You know the cat has as much affection for the bird as I have for pizza. That one just came to mind, but there were innumerable more pertinant ones throughout the book.
