i cannot believe that so many people could fail to find the beauty in this novel. for those of you in a.d, you need to realize that you are not really that intelligent. if you cannot see the importance of hardy's descriptions, then i don't think you really even to be in a.d. just because the story is not about some stupid slut ripping off her clothes for a hulking, handsome man doesn't mean that it is not romantic. hardy is one of the most influential writes of british lit, and if you don't like it, that's too bad. appearently you also fail to understand that simply because you don't like something doesn't mean that it isn't quality literature; perhaps a rewritten modern version would suite those of you with no intelligence! if you plan on taking your foolish, label oriented accademic decathalon brain to college anywhere worth going to, i suggest you open up to the idea of actually learning something, as opposed to simply thinking you know everything already!
