I'm in the 11th grade, and I am reading this book in my English class. The book may seem like just another war story, but it is in fact very in depth, and has many themes of which my class is discussing. To a student in the 7th grade, much of the meaning of the book would be lost. It would be better to read it later in your high school career, to understand the full meaning and message of the book.
