I think that this play emphasises on the discrimination of the Jews during the 'Elizabethan" times. For eg, Antonio hates Shylock because he is a Jew. People of Shakespeare's time thought that plays with alot of Jewish discrimination were very appealing, or that's what my 8th grade english teacher says. We were told to write the many ways that discrimination was portrayed in the Merchant of Venice and i think there's alot of good examples incorporated into the play. I personally think a summary should be short, simple but precise, i think that this summary, while very imformative is very long
