Shakespeare shows us in Macbeth that power corrupts people's mind. I have been reading some of the comments here and many of them insist that Lady Macbeth corrupted Macbeth. A few even suggest that it was the witches. Has anyone ever heard of free-will. It's that little thing that God (if you believe in God) gave us to let us choose our own destinies. No one forced Macbeth to kill Duncan, he is just so stupid that his wife is able to easily manipulate him. The witches told Macbeth about a prophesy but who really thinks that the witches are the real thing, I mean it's called coincidence or maybe just drunkeness on Macbeth's part. Anyways the only person to blame for Macbeth's rise to power and then quick downfall is himself.
