I'm re-reading this novel, which I know best as inspiring Donizetti's opera Lucia di Lammermoor. The novel is very different (Lucy's baddie isn't her brother but her mother.)
The novel is shorter and far more tautly plotted than most of Scott's works.
Anyone her know it?
