As part of my GCSE English coursework, I have studied and examined this play in much refined detail. I believe, in my own rights, that Romeo and Juliet was not written as a mere photogenic play of its kinds, but as a specially crafted episode of love, hatred, greed, torment and tragedy rolled into one spectacular piece of writing.
On the whole, the play has to be the most famous love story ever invented, and I have to agree. The characters are evolved step-by-step, the story unflods as a much realistic verse, and each scene has been invented to such a high standard, this makes you believe as though you are actually listening to a real-life tragedy: the play is so realistic.
I have to praise Shakespeare for his poetic talent also, where there are beautiful verses found within text. So well done to him, I much enjoyed studying this truly sensational play.
