I am in no way a person with any deep knowledge of Shakesperean literature (I enjoy reading it, but am a mathematician and a chemist by training), however from the point of view of popular culture, reading this play made me realize that those who complain about violent TV, video games or movies are really quite ignorant themselves-- this play makes most of those things seem quite tame, actually.
