For the love of poetry I thought we could start a thread of nighttime poetries
in the same lines as bedtime stories.
Why not!

come and give it a shot! :)

a night time lullabie
is a like a wind chime rhyme
it sings the sweetest dream
to the sweetest sleepy one

the night
the moon
the stars
they all look like a dance
with a lightest music sense
it all becomes a nest
for you to get a rest
away from the all the fuss
and daylight is out to dust.

Under the Bed

There was some monster under there.
Last night I heard him everywhere.
Today, of course, he's out of sight
Unlike the way he was last night.
I got to sleep I guess by ten.
The monster had stopped eating then,
Or doing what a monster does.
I hate him most of all because
He's ugly, thinking I don't know
Why he don't want his face to show.
My dad should go and catch that beast
So we can have a monster feast.

Here's my awful attempt. (I've not written much poetry before. =[)

The Night

The day erupts in rosy splendor,
Its life a burning supernova.
While glowing rays of zealous sunlight
Reach ever toward heavenly orbit, still
A glorious burst of color trims them
Down to ash, a crackling ember -
The night.

When I was but a lad of nine years old,
I loved Shrek, so, so much,
that I would call him my Isolde,
and pray to him every night.

My father convulsed at these ideas
exposing thus the very fear
that led to the atmosphere
of love for Shrek inside of me

For what is Shrek, but love?
(what is love but fear)
And what is Shrek - but life?

the night
shelters the sea
from the wind
the bee
it is quiet
and not a white
to see apart from the stars
they sparkle to keep the world afloat
a bit of ambiance to paint nature highly
while you sleep profoundly.
a bird is sightly.

Standby

Once in a while
at the end of a long day
alertness tags the dissociative
mind-state in to play
but every now and then
discontinuity occurs
instead of smooth immersion
our dream-scape world defers
committed to connecting
we're bound to take a fall
from the door of the collective
imagination of us all
while that sensation of a sudden
jolting backwards from a height
is just a standardised procedure
with updates by satellite

-Oops, I think I misinterpreted the rules of the game lol... Oh well here is some bedtime cynicism :P
