I understand that the way the Indians have been explained isn't very kind, however if you think about it, during the time of Jim M. Barrie had probably never seen one so just wrote what he was told about them. Of course these days people would know beter, I don't know....I guess it just made the story seem interesting.

I agree completely, but you have to take in consideration the time period that the book was written. Things have changed alot in the past 100 years, particuarly societies view on different races and cultures. Try to look at it as a way to be proud how far we have come since the book was written

I have always loved the book itself... but they way the indians are portrayed in the book is so stereotypical.... it makes me sad.
