I have not put all of my effort in reading the Scarlett Letter but I do understand that things in this book still goes on today. No this book would not be in my top 20 willing to read books because I'd rather read an Omar Tyree or Eric Jerome Dickey book in a minute! But the point is this and to me alot of you all are missing the point and I've only read the first paragraph in the first chapeter. To me this book is still up to date. The events that took place, the way the characters reacted when Hester's secret was revealed and all of it. It may not be the exact same way now like as in you wearing a big "A" on your clothes and people hate you and treat you like junk but it still goes on. Yeah it is boring but the message it sends out is outstanding. Even though I havent read it word for word we discuss it in our class and I actually think it is pretty interesting and that is rarely said from me about ANYTHING!
